It's much easier to lose weight with your own diet club than if you tried to lose weight by yourself. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to join her diet club and it took me a couple of days before I decided to do it.

The diet goes for four months and it begins September 2nd and ends January 2nd. My first thought was that it was way too long, I mean four months, wow. Then I thought it was awful to have to be on a diet during the holidays. It made no sense to me.

Well, I have changed my mind in a big way. Having four months is the perfect amount of time to lose weight the healthy way. Being accountable during the holidays is just what I need too. If you want to lose weight with your own diet club, now would be a great time to start it. The way our club does it, is by the honor system, and the weight loss is calculated by the percentage of weight we've lost, which makes it fair.

I think I could stand to lose ten pounds and I know exercise is key to losing weight and the good thing with our club is we walk every day as a group. We walk different places each day so that we won't get bored. There are some other people in a different city that are in our club and we email on Tuesday's to let everyone know how much we lost, or didn't lose, during the previous week.

There are days when I'm either too busy to walk, or I just don't feel like it, but knowing everyone else is walking and that they won't take no for an answer, unless we are sick, keeps me going. Yesterday there were seven of us and two dogs. It's a fast paced walk and we walk for one hour six days a week. It's a great motivator having other people hold you accountable for your weight loss choices. If you want to lose weight with your own diet club, set the dieting time frame and start right away. We all throw in $20 and there will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the people who have lost the highest percentage of weight.
